Three months.

Where has the time gone? I can’t believe they are already three months old! They have learned so much in the past month I don’t even know where to begin.  Riley loves to stand and will instantly lock her legs when you hold her up so she is standing.  Landon is not as big of a fan at standing, but he loves to be held upright and will instantly smile at you. They both love to smile and “talk” - especially in the mornings. Landon has made huge progress in holding his head up and has begun to love tummy time.  I put him down yesterday and was amazed as he instantly lifted his head and propped himself up on his elbows to look around – won’t be long now and they will be rolling over.  They love to follow objects with their eyes and seem to have recently discovered not only the dogs, but each other.  They truly seem to acknowledge the existence of each other when they are sitting across from each other.  When they lay next to each other they purposefully reach for the other and I have caught them holding hands a few times.  They may have just been on a mission to get the other’s thumb as they have become thumb suckers over the last few weeks.

I would estimate that they both weigh around 10.5 pounds, although it could be more.  They recently went through the 3 month growth spurt and became eating machines for a few days.  Riley has had a lot of tummy trouble and it seemed to get a lot worse about a week ago. I called the doctor and she suggested trying soy formula.  Since transitioning to soy, we have seen some improvement in her fussiness and gas – except for those growth spurt days where the fussiness was a whole new level!  Landon seems to do well with the regular formula, but has his moments of fussiness – usually just when he is hungry though.  So to add to the excitement and things to keep track of around the house, we now are making two different kinds of formula!

The babies are doing really well with daycare.  She has them on a regular activity and nap schedule and they love being able to watch all of the children there.  It was rough for me to drop them off for the first day and I cried most of the way to work.  I think the Hubby and I have become very boring to them on the weekends after all of the excitement at daycare.  We did take them to the pumpkin patch last weekend.  As the Hubby pointed out the trip was more for me than it was for them, but I am so excited to start family traditions I just couldn’t wait.  They didn’t seem to mind though.

Nolan was pretty excited to see Landon.:)

Will and Jack did a little modeling in the field

We managed to get some three month pictures the other morning, bright and early, as that seems to be when they are the most cooperative.

Holding hands. :)

Bee hats were a present from "Aunt" Brandy.

Next on the agenda is a trip back to Illinois for their Christening.  We may be a little crazy packing two babies into the car for a 12+ hour drive, but we are excited to get together with friends and family and to meet several other new babies that have joined the group since we last visited! I am sure there will be a ton of pictures from that trip.
