I like to think that my babies are already making a
difference in the world. They smile at
everyone and you just can’t help but smile back at a baby, so ya see, they are
cheering people up all over the place! :) I know they are making a huge difference to me and
they are the reason I smile every day. I
love watching them develop and learn new activities. They know how to make me feel special when
they lift their arms in the air for me to pick them up. They get so excited when I pick them up from
daycare. I love to see how happy and
bouncy they get when I walk to the door – makes me forget about the stress of
the day. They are already keeping us so
busy!
Landon has graduated from Occupational Therapy! We have to
go back in a few months for a reevaluation and possibly every few months
thereafter. Hypotonia can last awhile in
little guys and they want to make sure he is keeping up with the milestones and
hand control. They gave us some stuff to
work on at home and he is already rocking it.
He is a “thinker.” I sit back and
watch him analyze toys and figure out how they work quickly. If I show him a new “trick” (hiding a ball
under another toy), he will be doing it within minutes. He has some favorite toys - stacking cups and balls especially along with the carbon monoxide detector, doors, and the dog's water bowl. He loves to army crawl all over the house and
keep up with his sister. He can crawl on
all fours, but knows that he can get there faster if he crawls his way. He pulls up on everything and has almost
mastered being able to get back down. He
still has his moments where he gets upset and feels he can’t sit himself down
so he cries out for help. I think a few
more trips to Physical Therapy and we will be done with that as well. He LOVES
DocMcstuffins and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
He recognizes the music and will literally crawl from across the house
to a point where he can see the television.
As of Saturday, Landon is up to 7 teeth – he is chewing on everything,
so make sure your fingers are out of the way.
Riley is keeping us busy.
She is literally ALL OVER THE PLACE.
She hates to be confined so we just give her a free reign over the house
and we just follow along and make sure she does not get into TOO much
trouble. She is pulling herself up and
walking along everything. She is getting
a bit more daring and letting go some to stand on her own. It is just a short matter of time before she
is walking on her own and I am really not ready for that one. Riley continues to be a champion teether as
one of her top teeth came through on Saturday and we had no idea until I
noticed it later that day. She now has
three teeth and the fourth one should be here anytime. She is constantly laughing and smiling – her
feet are very ticklish. J
She loves her dog Jasper and you can tell her loves her too. She gets to climb all over him and grab at
his face and he just lays there and takes it.
She has earned a second nickname as “the destroyer” as she loves to
knock things over, pull toys out of the containers, take things away from
Landon – just generally leave a path of destruction. Landon seems to like things in order as he
picks up after her and puts the toys back and much prefers when a books is
closed, so they make a good team.
It amazes us to watch their two completely different
personalities. The Hubby and I joke that
Landon is going to come up with plans, but Riley is going to be the one to get
it done. They are loving being able to
eat what mommy and daddy eat. They are
still eating baby food, but have tried smaller pieces of our dinners just about
every night- I guess feeding them off my plate is my new diet plan along with chasing
them around. Tonight they had some fish,
chicken last night. They love sweet potato fries and pieces of fruit. We finally found some sippy cups that they
like and they are drinking water out of them very well! We will continue to try
and explore food and hope to be finishing up our time with baby food. We are also excited to be finishing up with
formula and be able to save a little bit of money each month. (It really is the
little things)
